Background Information
Center for Tourism Training & Research (CTTR) is a public training institute managed by the Wild Life Clubs of Kenya. The purpose of the institution is to promote tourism development in Kenya through education and research.
The college was founded in 1999 to enable members of the Wild Life Clubs of Kenya to receive education and training on tourism and environmental conservation after high school. Center for Tourism Training and Research started with 22 students, but it has grown to over 200 students every year. CTTR has been registered with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
The mission of the Center for Tourism Training and Research is to develop highly qualified professionals in the fields of environmental and wildlife conservation, tourism, and hospitality. Its vision is to become a leading conservation and tourism center in Kenya.

It is a perfect start for learners who want to pursue a course in tourism or learn about tourism development. CTTR equips learners connected to the Wildlife Club of Kenya (WCK) with relevant skills and knowledge to adapt to changes in the tourism sector.
Center for Tourism and Training Research has partnered with Moi University and Sarova Hotels Ltd to nurture professionals in the tourism sector in Kenya.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to pursue a diploma course at CTTR, a student should have scored a C- in KCSE or an A-level qualification with at least 1 principal pass in history or Geography. The student should also possess a KCSE certificate – mandatory requirement.
A certificate course at the Center for Tourism Training and Research requires at least a pass in Geography or history. The student should also have good passes in English and Kiswahili, English, Mathematics, and biology.
Tourism courses at Center for Tourism Training and Research takes two years. Students get a certificate in tour guiding once they complete their first year. The second year offers more practical skills in tourism and wildlife management. After the two years, students can now proceed to pursue a diploma or degree course at Moi University.

Application Process
There are two ways of applying for a course at the Center for Tourism Training and Research.
First, the student can obtain application forms from the institution. He or she should then fill the forms and return to the CTTR offices.
Another method is to apply for a course at CTTR through KUCCPS. In this regard, you are required to log-in to KUCCPS portal and choose a course of your choice from the institution.
KUCCPS Admission Letters
Center for Tourism Training and Research admission letters can be obtained from the Wild Life Club of Kenya’s offices.
You can also receive your admission letters through the postal address you used to apply through KUCCPS. If you applied for a course at CTTR through KUCCPS, you should first check the KUCCPS portal to see whether you have been placed for a course in the college.
