Introduction

This module unit is designed to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry out electrical installation work in domestic premises and related environments.

General Objectives

By the end of the module unit, the trainee should be able to:

  1. understand the operations of final circuits
  2. demonstrate safety awareness when handling electrical tools and equipment
  3. appreciate the correct use of tools and equipment
  4. determine appropriate types of cables for a particular purpose
  5. outline the distribution network in power systems
  6. apply relevant principles to operate electrical machines
  7. provide maintenance and service to electrical tools, equipment, cabling and accessories
