Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) is a public university located in Kakamega, Western Kenya. MMUST offers quality certificate, diploma, degree, masters and PhD programmes.
Admission Requirements
The following are the minimum requirements for various programs for admission into MMUST.
A doctorate program requires an applicant have a master’s degree.
A master’s program requires.
- Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honors or Second-Class Honors (Upper Division) in relevant disciplines, from Universities recognized by the University Senate OR
- Bachelor’s degree with a Second-Class Honors (Lower Division) in relevant disciplines, from Universities, recognized by the University Senate, with at least two (2) years post qualification of work experience.
A bachelor’s degree programme requires.
- KCSE mean grade of C+ or its equivalence OR
- Mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE or its equivalent with Diploma from a recognized institution OR
- KCE Division III with credit passes in two relevant subjects.
Diploma Programme has the following minimum requirements.
- MINIMUM MEAN GRADE OF C- (MINUS) AT OR
- A MEAN OF C- (MINUS) WITH AN IT CERTIFICATE IN RELATED FIELD
Certificate Programme requires a minimum mean grade of D+ (Plus) Or the relevant artisan course.

Application Process
Students who qualify to be placed via government program can submit their application via KUCCPS website www.kuccps,ac,ke by logging into the students’ portal and choosing MMUST as their preferred university.
Since the government-sponsored program can only accommodate few students who qualify, Students can apply for admission internally through the university.
Application can be done through the university website where you can apply online or download the application form.
To download the application form, click http://www.mmust.ac.ke/mmust/index.php/student-application-forms and download the form according to the program you want to pursue. The completed form should be submitted to the Registrar, Academic Affairs, MMUST, P.O. Box 190-50100 Kakamega.
To apply online click http://application.mmust.ac.ke/ and create an account to be able to keep track of the admission status. Fill in all the required data and submit the form.
