Background Information
Mount Kenya University (MKU) is a Chartered University committed to offering holistic education. The University Main campus is located in Thika town, with other Campuses in Nairobi, Parklands, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Meru, and Kigali Rwanda. The University is accredited by the Commission for University Education and other bodies in the region to provide programmes that are innovative and responsive to immediate and long-term national and international scientific and technological needs.
Admission Requirements
For Successful admission into Mount Kenya University, an applicant must meet the following requirements depending on programme of interest.
Undergraduate programmes minimum entry requirements
- KCSE mean grade of C+ OR
- Higher National Diploma/ Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by MKU senate.
Diploma Programmes minimum entry requirement
- KCSE mean grade of C (plain) OR
- Certificate in any relevant field from recognized institution.
Entry requirements for a master’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.
Entry requirements for Doctorate programme
- Applicants must be holders of master’s degree from a recognized University.
