Background Information

South Eastern Kenya University is public university located in Kwa Vonza, Kitui County. The University is a fully fledged University and is the successor to the South Eastern University College (SEUCO) which was a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi. SEKU envisions becoming a World Class University with quality teaching, creative learning, innovative research and strong community outreach.

Admission Requirements

PhD Programmes

  • A relevant master’s degree of South Eastern Kenya University or any other recognized university, or other qualifications considered by University Senate as equivalent to a relevant master’s degree.

Master’s degree

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree of South Eastern Kenya University or any other recognized university, or other qualifications considered by University Senate as equivalent to a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Undergraduate Degree-

  • Mean grade of C+ and above in KCSE or its equivalent
  • A diploma recognized by University Senate.
  • GCE ‘A’ level with at least 2 principal passes or any other certificates recognized by university senate.

Diploma Programmes

  • Mean grade of C- and above in KCSE or its equivalent
  • 3 upper-level passes in IGCSE/IB OR
  • 3 credit in GCE ‘O’/ ‘A’ level

Application Process

Applications for the programmes shall be made through Official Application Forms, which are available at a non-refundable fee of Kshs.2, 000.00 for the Undergraduate, Kshs.1,000.00 for Diploma programmes and Kshs.500.00 for Certificate programmes. Visit the university either the main campus, Kitui Town Campus, Machakos Campus, Wote Campus, or Mtito Andei Campus to obtain the application form.

Applicants who are eligible to be enrolled through government-sponsored programme can apply for admission through the KUCCPS placement service. Go to www.kuccps.ac.ke and navigate to the student portal, log in and start your application selecting SEKU as your preferred University, select your course of choice and fill the personal details then submit your application.
