How to Pay Monthly NHIF contributions by MPesa
To pay your monthly NHIF contributions via M-Pesa, follow the steps:
- Go to M-Pesa menu on your mobile phone
- Select the Pay Bill Option
- Enter 200222 as Business Number
- Enter your ID Number as the account number
- Enter the Amount to pay (ksh 500)
- Enter your Pin Number
- Wait for a confirmation message from Safaricom
How to Check your NHIF Status
To know the status of your NHIF account, you can use the messaging system on your phone.
Follow the following procedures to check your NHIF payment status
- Go to the Messages application on your phone
- Type “ID” followed by space, then ID number as a text message e.g. ID 12345678
- Send your composed text message to 21101
The SMS system will charge you at the normal rates to check NHIF status
